fight to end witch hunts

In Ghana and many other countries around the world, women are still persecuted and killed because of belief in witchcraft. On Wicked’s release day, together with Amnesty International and Cynthia Erivo, we campaigned to protect the real elphabas, and sign the Anti-Witchcraft Bill into law.

Amnesty channels turned green. Cynthia became a voice for the real elphabas. The message got over 1.8 million views and thousands of petetition signatures.

@amnesty The world often wants to banish people who are different. Right now in Ghana, women are being accused of witchcraft and are being murdered, imprisoned, or forced to flee their communities in fear for their lives. @Cynthia Erivo: I’m proud to support Amnesty International’s campaign to end this injustice by passing the Anti-Witchcraft Bill into law.
